Our October meeting had a theme of “Think Small, Build Big,” and the creations the kids built were definitely big in spirit if not in size.
For our mini build, we had the kids build things that said “fall/autumn” to them. As usual, the kids made some awesome creations from their mini build kits! Not only we did we have the usual fall items like apples, leaves, and pumpkins, but we also had some creative word creations, including a birthday wish for a sibling!
Our theme included mini mazes. Each kid received a base plate and a half scoop of bricks (1×1, 1×2, 1×3, and 1×4), and had 15 minutes to create a maze that worked. The diversity of their creations was amazing!
Our challenge build was actually a two-parter – the kids started with a base plate and eight support beam bricks, and were tasked with creating a room, house, garden or other living space. From there, we stacked the rooms into a tower that was 27 inches tall. A special thanks to D – she helped the kids stack the floors to create that cool tower!
