Genghis Khan at Union Station

To end out January, we visited the Genghis Khan exhibition at Union Station. From the artifacts to the live demonstration of Mongolian throat singing, it was an amazing field trip! There was something for everyone – beautifully carved ceremonial objects, wonderfully crafted every day items, a gorgeous tent, multiple examples of the clothes they wore, a full-size replica of the Khan on his horse, and more! There was also a scavenger hunt for the kids to complete, which helped them slow down and really read the details for the different pieces. They learned so much about how Genghis Khan affected modern society, including some items (like passports and civil service exams) that often is not associated with him.
