Join us for a book club just for girls! We will be reading old favorites, new favorites, and sharing books that we are enjoying. This book club is for girls ages 5-12, whether they are reading on their own, listening to audiobooks or being read to by a parent.
We will meet each month to discuss our group book, and have a little time each month to share great new books we have read at home.
Our April 2014 book will be “Misty of Chincoteague” by Marguerite Henry. Based on a real horse named Misty, this Newbery Award winner is a wonderful book for anyone who loves a well-written story, especially one about horses! In the book, Misty is one of the famous Assateague Island ponies. For two years the men who rounded up and auctioned the horses from the island had tried to catch her. And for two years Maureen Beebe and her brother Paul had wanted to buy her. On Pony Penning Day the Beebes had a surprise – Misty and her foal were in the auction! Would they be able to buy them?
Read the book and find out what happens, then come join the discussion!
