Join us for a book club just for girls! We will be reading old favorites, new favorites, and sharing books that we are enjoying. This book club is for girls ages 5-12, whether they are reading on their own, listening to audiobooks or being read to by a parent.
We will meet each month to discuss our group book, and have a little time each month to share great new books we have read at home.
Our February 2014 book will be “From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler” by E. L. Konigsburg. This perpetual favorite is the story of Claudia and little brother Jamie who run away to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. From the creative way they settle into living at the museum to the mystery they try to solve, this book is enjoyable from start to finish. The JoCo library has both print books and audio books available.
The Book Club Girls will meet in the children’s section of the Central Resource Library, by the windows. Come ready to discuss the book! We will also have a little time to share other books we are reading, so bring a book to share with the book club.
Younger siblings might enjoy the toy and train tables available, and of course the library stacks are open for perusing.
