Last Thursday we attended a performance of “The Three Bears” by Paul Mesner Puppets. This updated version of the story mixed puppetry with hilarious video, a dash of history, a few lessons on bears and a whole lot of jokes.
You think you know the story of the Three Bears? Maybe not…
In this version of the Three Bears, we saw Goldilocks on “security video” attempting to enter the Bears’ house, heard her plead her case of mistaken identity in court, and be acquitted when she explained that the original story was about a vixen, which could be a fox or an old lady, not a young girl. We laughed our way through the commercials for “Just Right Porridge” and the “Goldi-lock” security lock, and learned some interesting facts about various bears, like polar bears and black bears. Plus, the twist at the end of the show was great!
We enjoyed the performance of “Three Bears” and look forward to attending another fairy tale show in July – “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by A. Wolf” based on the book by Jon Scieszka.
