After exploring engineering and inventions last month, February’s Lego Club was dedicated to exploring Legos as an art medium.
For our mini builds, we had a February theme, including Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, Chinese New Year, Groundhog Day, and Black History Month. The kids were encouraged to explore their artistic side in their very creative builds.
For our challenge build, the kids stretched their creative muscles by building in monochrome! Each kid was given two scoops of blocks in a single color and then focused on exploring shapes and shadows.
And as a theme build, the kids were given a base plate and some blocks and built 2D art. The goal was to make a picture on their base plate with only a single layer of blocks.
Another great meeting with lots of awesome creations!
