This morning we attended the Symphony’s KinderKonzert performance, “Cloudy with a Chance of Music,” at Kauffman Center. It was a wonderful performance! The songs selected were an exciting and emotive introduction to classical music, so the kids were engaged throughout the performance. Bryan Busby of KMBC 9 Weather was the emcee, and he surprised the crowd with both his conducting skills and his kettle drum playing. The associate conductor did a wonderful job of drawing the audience into singing along, playing along, and overall enjoying themselves. The kids especially enjoyed learning how to make a storm with their hands, knees and feet! As always, the Symphony members performed beautifully, and had wonderful enthusiasm.
Thanks to the Symphony for a great morning of music! We are looking forward to next year’s performances!
