On Wednesday we attended a fun musical performance of “A Year with Frog and Toad” at the Coterie Theatre. This adaptation of the favorite children’s book series brought in song, dance, and a great 1920s style too! From the “speedy” snail to the mischievous squirrels, the chirping birds to Frog and Toad themselves, the musical was full of fun characters and a storyline that was all about the importance of good friends.

And what good friends Frog and Toad are! Eating together, helping each other overcome issues with annoying neighbors, trying out new things together, surprising each other by raking leaves or giving a much-needed gift, or more importantly, a very much wanted letter by actual snail mail, Frog and Toad exemplify all that is wonderful about friends and friendship.

The Frog and Toad musical runs through August 2 at the Coterie Theatre, and is well worth the visit, whether or not you have read and loved the books.
