For October Lego Club, the kids explored ideas of pumpkins, popocorn, Halloween, National Taco Day, and Mad Hatter Day. Spinning off from “Alice in Wonderland”, the kids were asked to explore scale by building items both large and small, using bricks divided by size. The older kids worked on building catapults and other simple machines from the project kits, and of course, we had some fun free building time.
Here is some of what was built at the meeting:
Pumpkin guarding a mummy and an evil guy and a pool
Two guards and a king in the middle
The Mad Hatter tea party from Alice in Wonderland
A giant monster with a house for a head with people inside working the brains
The brains of the giant monster
From the project kits:
A mini figure catapulted (look at the top right corner)
Happy building!
