October 2014 Lego Club Creations

The October meeting was lots of fun, with lots of building, as well as a Lego game we tried and enjoyed, plus a printable for coloring! The kids used the mini build kits to represent their favorite October things – dinosaur month, all kinds of yummy foods, Halloween, Mad Hatter Day, and Cupcake Day, though the big favorite was Minecraft. Then they each built their own game marker/figure, and tried out a game from “A Mom with a Lesson Plan.” The kids really enjoyed the game, and it will definitely go into our regular rotation of activities. Big thanks to Beth to finding the game and her family for testing it out at home before we used it at Lego Club! We also enjoyed some free building time, plus the kids had a great time coloring their own minifigures from a printable from “Sweet Benanna & Sam.”

Side note for punctuation sticklers like me – grab some liquid paper if you print out the game so you can blot out the unnecessary apostrophes and quotation marks throughout. Otherwise, a great game!
