On Thursday we celebrated Black History Month by attending a performance of African Culture Connection performed at Yardley Hall at Johnson County Community College as part of their Arts Education Series. The troupe is based out of Omaha, Nebraska, and performs traditional songs and dances from Africa. They performed several different types of dances, taught the kids a “call and response” that was lots of fun, and encouraged the kids to clap along with the music. It was a wonderful performance showcasing the talents of the dancers, drummers and singers, and we had a great time attending.
