Today we attended a performance of “Elephant and Piggie’s We Are in a Play!” at JCCC. This adorable series of books by Mo Willems transferred wonderfully to the stage as a kid-friendly performance that highlighted some of the best known books. Books in the performance included such favorites as:

“I Am Invited to a Party!”
“Elephants Cannot Dance!”
“Listen To My Trumpet”
“I Love My New Toy!”
“My Friend Is Sad”
“Should I Share My Ice Cream?”
“We Are In A Book!”

The actors playing cautious elephant Gerald and boisterous and cheerful Piggie did a great job in their roles, especially when they broke the fourth wall and acknowledged the audience at the end of the show. The music was a great match to the script, and the dancing squirrels added to the fun. All in all, it was a fun performance and a great transfer of the stories from the books to stage.

Thanks to JCCC for hosting this fun children’s performance!
